Lesson 10!

今日 Potential Verbs を習った！

Group ①　＝　Move everything to the "え" line
e.g.
書きます　→　書けます　＝　Can write
読みます　→　読めます　＝　Can read
聞きます　→　聞けます　＝　Can hear [transitive verb]

Group ②　＝　Add "られ"
e.g.
見ます　→　見られます　＝　Can see [transitive verb]
食べます　→　食べられます　＝　Can eat/Edible
起きます　→　起きられます　＝　Can wake up

Group ③　＝　Just memorise, only got 2
e.g.
来ます　→　こられます　＝　Can come
します　→　できます　＝　Done/Completed/etc..

All of the above verbs are to be used with "が" not "を".

見えます／聞こえます　＝　Can be seen/Can be heard

They are Intransitive verbs [you can see or hear the whatever without putting in effort] Unlike the Transitive verb you saw above.

It can only be explained in this example sentence:

You can see Mt.Fuji near if you go to Hakone but you can also see it from the windows of the bullet train.

箱根へ行ったら富士山が近くに見られますが、新幹線の窓から富士山も見えます。

Understand? If you want to make the effort to go and see Mt.Fuji up close, use "見られる", if you just pass by it without meaning to see it while taking the Shinkansen on your way to another station, then use "見える".

KP, YF and I have decided to take JLPT 3 next year, forgoing this year's JLPT 4~

It's on 6 Dec and it's a Sunday, I've got classes to teach! T_T SO SAD..

Lesson 05!

We are progressing very fast! It's already Lesson 24 in the textbook!! There's only 27 lessons in the book this time!

Today, we learn about changing verbs into noun phrases~

For example:

①　私は空を飛ぶことが下手です。
-- I am bad at flying in the sky.

②　昨日彼がこのカメラを買ったことを知っていますか。
-- Do you know that he bought this camera yesterday?

③　日本語を話すことが難しくないと思います。
-- I think speaking Japanese is not hard.

またたくさん宿題を先生からもらったです！紙が９枚あります！（￣﹏￣）"

Lesson 03 and 04!

Well, I was sick last week.. T_T Anyway, we learned a lot this lesson!! We learn how to create loooooooong sentences!! And we listened to JLPT4 listening test!! それは難しかったです！ Even though I can catch 90% of it, haha~ XD

Well, I'll update this post.. soon.. XD

This lesson is an important lesson! It teaches us how to make really loooooooooooong sentences!! I'll try my best to revise!!

Translate this: I don't have the time to write a letter to my mum who is in America.

Step 1: Identify the nouns and the modifiers [that describe the nouns].

I don't have the time [N1] to write a letter [M1] to my mum [N2] who is in America [M2].

[M1] describes [N1]: The time is used for writing the letter.

[M2] describes [N2]: My mum is in America.

Step 2: Break them down into simpler sentences, translate, change into plain form.

―　私は時間がありません。　＝　私は時間がない。 [Main topic; change into plain form is optional]
―　手紙を書きます。　＝　手紙を書く。
―　私の母はアメリカにいます。　＝　私の母はアメリカにいる。
―　母に手紙を書きます。　＝　母に手紙を書く。

Step 3: Combine them while taking note which is the topic, which is the sub topic. In this case, the topic is "time".

―　私は＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿時間がありません。

Then..

―　私は＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿手紙を書く時間がありません。

And finally..

―　私はアメリカにいる母に手紙を書く時間がありません。

So to translate another simpler sentence: Please show me the photos you took when you went to Tokyo.

―　東京に行った時あなたが撮った写真を見せてください。

Or another even simpler sentence: This is the camera that I bought yesterday.

―　これは昨日私が買ったカメラです。

☆ The bolded が is there instead of は, is because they are the sub topic of the sentence.

Lesson 01 and 02!

まず…亮ちゃんお誕生日おめでとう！亮ちゃんは２５歳になった！やっと私より大きくなった！XD



先週レッソンへ行かなかった！ごめんなさい！

①　Ｐｌａｃｅ　を　Ｍｏｖｅｍｅｎｔ

‐公園を散歩します。
‐橋を渡る。

②　…と思います。

‐すずきさんは公園へ行ったと思います。 [went]
‐すずきさんは公園へ行くと思います。 [will go]
‐すずきさんは親切な人だと思います。 [な-adjective]
‐すずきさんは頭がいいと思います。 [い-adjective]

③　…と言います。

Basically, the difference between got quotation marks and don't have quotation marks.

‐きむらさんは銀座へ行くと言いました。 [Use the casual/plain form]
-- Kimura-san said he will go to Ginza.

‐きむらさんは「銀座へ行きます」と言いました。 [Use the polite form]
-- Kimura said, "I will go to Ginza".

④　Take away the と

‐どう思いますか。 [What do you think?]
‐そう思います。 [I think so./ That's what I think./Etc.]

⑤　でしょう／かもしれません

‐でしょう　＝　It's a question, yet it's not really asking. It's just asking for agreement.
‐かもしれません　＝　You say this when you are not really sure, unlike でしょう.

‐あしたは多分雨が降らないかもしれません。
‐あしたは多分雨が降らないでしょう。
‐あしたは多分雨が降るかもしれません。
‐あしたは多分雨が降るでしょう。

⑥　時

‐子供の時、北海道に行きました。
‐暇なとき、遊びに来てください。
‐忙しい時、手伝ったください。
‐銀座へ行ったとき、この靴を買いました。

＊Adjectives will always be in the present tense form.

‐大坂へ行くとき、このかばんを買いました。
-- When I was going to leave for Osaka, I bought this bag.

⑦　そんなに

‐そんなにおもしろくないです。

⑧　と

‐　音楽を聴くと、楽しくなります。
-- When I listen to music, I become happy.

‐この道をまっすぐ行くと、駅があります。
--　If you go straight this way, there is a station.

‐もっと勉強しないと困りますよ。
-- If you don't study harder, you will be in trouble.

My sentence for the day was:

After you walk straight this way, please turn right and there is a station.
この道をまっすぐ歩いてから、右へ曲がってください。そして、あそこに駅があります。
このみちをまっすぐあるいてから、みぎへまがってください。そして、あそこにえきがあります。

長かった~！！じゃあ、今日はここまでです！

テストをした。さいやくだあ～やっぱり後悔している。全然勉強しなかった…私のせいです！T_T

I forgot about the "しにいきます" for group 1!! T_T!!~ And the Verb that comes in front of "あとで" dunno need particles in between annot.. T_T!! And the "英語を話すことができます。" Instead of を, I wrote で.. OMG OMG..

"I came here to take photos." and "Ms Honda can speak English very well." I was stuck at these 2.. SO SAD!!
