Lesson 15!

こんばんは

I was too sick to go for lesson last week!! And that was when sensei gave the biggest homework yet! She gave us a passage to translate and then we have to continue the story with a passage as long as hers!

Well, I finished it safely and I got 10 bonus points for the upcoming Intermediate 1 test next week!! For my passage, there were no serious mistakes, only a few differences with sensei's version~ ^_^v

I'll type it here when I'm free~ Edit the other posts too~ As a form of revision ne~ ^_~v

頑張らなければなりませんでしょう!?来週のテストは絶対に合格するよ!よしゃ!!

Lesson 13!

こんばんは

Yay!! Understood more clearly about the honorific form!! I couldn't really grasp it last week, so I didn't write, lol~~ I will update those parts that I haven't wrote yet, soon XD

Just something rough here, I'll edit..

1. Boss/sensei/respectable person gives me a book = Sensei wa watashi ni hon wo kudasaimasu.

2. I give respectable person a book = Watashi wa sensei ni hon wo sashiagemasu.

3. I teach a kid/lower status person English = Watashi wa kodomo ni eigo wo oshiete yarimasu.

4. I give an apple to my friend/same level person = Watashi wa tomodachi ni ringo wo agemasu.

5. My friend/a kid give an apple to me = Tomodachi/kodomo wa watashi ni ringo wo kuremasu.

Yup, pray that I'll be free to edit and add a "flow" chart!

Lesson 10!

こんばんは

今日 Potential Verbs を習った!

Group ① = Move everything to the "え" line
e.g.
書きます → 書けます = Can write
読みます → 読めます = Can read
聞きます → 聞けます = Can hear [transitive verb]

Group ② = Add "られ"
e.g.
見ます → 見られます = Can see [transitive verb]
食べます → 食べられます = Can eat/Edible
起きます → 起きられます = Can wake up

Group ③ = Just memorise, only got 2
e.g.
来ます → こられます = Can come
します → できます = Done/Completed/etc..

All of the above verbs are to be used with "が" not "を".

=================================================

見えます/聞こえます = Can be seen/Can be heard

They are Intransitive verbs [you can see or hear the whatever without putting in effort] Unlike the Transitive verb you saw above.

It can only be explained in this example sentence:

You can see Mt.Fuji near if you go to Hakone but you can also see it from the windows of the bullet train.

箱根へ行ったら富士山が近くに見られますが、新幹線の窓から富士山も見えます。

Understand? If you want to make the effort to go and see Mt.Fuji up close, use "見られる", if you just pass by it without meaning to see it while taking the Shinkansen on your way to another station, then use "見える".

=================================================

しか…ありません = Only
だけ…あります = Only

=================================================
tired.. will edit this tomorrow XD
